Theme: TUTABAGANE ERA TUBEERE BENKANYA ERA BERUFU MUMAKA GAFFE TUFUNE EMIREMBE EGYA NNAMADDALA (SEEK RECONCILIATION AND PEACE TO OBTAIN TRUE PEACE IN OUR FAMILIES).

1.    WELCOME REMARKS

Your Grace Archbishop Michael August Blume, the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda, the Rev. Fathers, the Religious, the Catechists, the Seminarians, Pastoral Council leaders, the leaders of our Institutions i.e. St. Kizito Secondary School, St. Kizito Primary School, Reachout, St. Dorcas Tailoring school, members of Apostolic movements  and all of you the people of God. I warmly welcome you all.

2.    THE PARISH DAY

Every year we celebrate the Parish Day on the Assumption of Our Lady. We are greatly honored to have been given the Mother of Jesus Christ and the Mother of the Church as our Patron Saint. Indeed during the year it is wonderful to see many people seeking her motherly care and prayers. She is indeed our refugee and strength.

3.    THE JOURNEY OF FAITH

We thank God for the many Christians who have made fundamental steps in their spiritual journey. We particularly congratulate the young people who have received the sacrament of confirmation today. We congratulate those who have celebrated the sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion, and Matrimony during the year. We continue to strengthen our faith by celebrating the Sacraments through which Jesus Christ continues to sanctify each Christian and the whole Church.

4.    CONSECRATED LIFE

This year being a year of consecrated life announced by Pope Francis on the 2nd February 2015, we would like to give thanks to the many religious Men and women who silently give witness to the Gospel values in our Midst. Their joy, simplicity, prayer, and work remind us that the kingdom of God is already established in our Parish.

5.    POPE FRANCIS VISIT TO UGANDA

Your Grace, we are all eagerly waiting to welcome the Holy Father to our Country Uganda. In his Lenten message this Year, Pope Francis urged all of us to become what we receive during Mass, the Body of Christ. In this body there is no room for the indifference in our hearts. If one member suffers, all suffer together (1Cor 12:26). Our Parish must continue to be a body which acknowledges and cares for its weakest, poorest and most insignificant members. I kindly call upon all Parishioners that we must intensify our efforts of caring for the poorest of our Parish, be it through ReachOut Mbuya or the Good Samaritan Office.

10. CHALLENGES

a)      Prayer life has been abandoned in majority of Catholic Families.

b)      There is domestic violence in many families.

c)      Poverty and unemployment.

d)      Little understanding of Liturgy.

e)      When people say I confess to God at the beginning of Mass, they believe they don’t need the sacrament of confession.

f)       People who come to Church are the same people who go to witchdoctors and Diviners like the Lady who sits near the MTN offices on Portbell Rd. near Bugolobi.

g)      Many people are affected by HIV and other sicknesses.

11. WHAT WE HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH THE COMING YEAR

a)      Finish Comboni House and open the Radio Station

b)      Build priests House at Banda

c)      Renovate the Fathers House at Mbuya

d)      Continue to preach the word of God

12. CONCLUSION

In conclusion, thank you Dear Parishioners, for the overwhelming support you give to us and your Parish so that we may continue to build together the Kingdom of God. We particularly ask your forgiveness for all that has not been done well. I once again congratulate the Children who have celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation. Let us continue to trust in God and in the prayers of our Mother Mary. Let us not forget that there was a reason why she was given to us as our Patron. Indeed we have received many blessings and we hope to continue receiving blessings through her intercession. We are particularly honored to receive Archbishop Michael August Blume, the Apostolic Nuncio to Uganda in Our midst. Thank you your Grace for accepting to come and celebrate the Parish Day with us. Thank you for your kindness and love for this Parish community.

May the good Lord Bless you all.

Your Servants.
