  1. Marriage Banns
  2. The National youth Symposium about the Pope’s Visit announced last week has been changed and rescheduled or Saturday 26th September at Nsambya Yes Centre starting at 8.00am. All youth are invited.
  3. The Catholic Women’s Guild members will have a Deanery meeting on Sunday 27th September, 2015 at Biina Parish. The meeting will start at 10.00am with mass.
  4. The Catholic Women’s Guild members of Mbuya Parish are invited for a meeting this Tuesday 22nd September, 2015 at 4.30pm.
  5. The Focolare Movement invites everyone for the word o life meeting on Sunday 27th September, 2015 at the Focolare Community Mbuya opposite Mbuya Barracks and next to the Vatican Embassy from 9.00am to 2.00pm. There will be mass.
  6. There will be a five days healing and deliverance retreat at the Vincentian retreat Centre Entebbe rom 29th September, 2015 to 3rd October, 2015.
  7. The Archdiocesian day will be on 25th October, 2015.
  8. We welcome among us two Deacons from Ggaba Seminary who have been assigned to our Parish for their Pastoral experience.There is a Parish council meeting today 20th September, 2015 starting at 10.30am in the Parish Hall.

16th Sunday in ordinary Time B

  1. Marriage banns
  2. Today there is a pastoral council meeting starting at 10.30am.
  3. Kinawataka Sub parish Christians are making their Pilgrimage to the Parish today and they will lead the 11.00 mass.
  4. The Christians from St. Andrew Kaggwa sub parish are informed of your meeting tomorrow Monday 20th July, 2015 at Bugolobi flats near Block 2 at 6.00pm. This meeting is to prepare for the parish day.
  5. All Christians rom Lwala Parish in Kaberamaido district are informed and invited to attend mass next Sunday 26th July, 2015 at Namugongo shrine starting at 10.00 am. The mas will be presided over by the Parish Priest. Christians rom Soroti Diocese and well-wishers are also invited.
  6. The traces Magazine is being sold outside the church at Ugx3000 only.
  7. All choir members are kindly asked to join in the practices every Saturday starting at 4pm in preparation for the Parish day celebrations.
  8. The Parish day will be next Month on 16th August, 2015. All Christians are kindly asked to join in the preparations and to contribute generously.
  9. We are encouraged to buy the Leadership Magazine, Munno Newspaper found outside church.

  2. Today is Holy childhood Sunday. We pray or the children and let us help them to grow up as good Christians. There will be a second basket collection for Holy Childhood apostolate.
  3. Today the couples celebrate their day. They will participate actively in the 11 O’clock mass.
  4. We thank the women who have offered themselves to teach children in the Oratorio everyu Sunday. We kindly ask parents to pick their children in church after mass.
  5. The parish day will be on 16th August, 2015. Each sub parish should start to prepare for active participation and children will receive the sacrament of confirmation on that day.
  6. Next Thursday 16th July, 2015 will be the parish Executive meeting at 5pm and parish council meeting on Sunday 19th July, 2015 at 10.30am.
  7. All choir members are kindly asked to join in the practices every Saturday starting at 4pm in preparation for the Parish day celebrations.
  8. Couples wedding in September and October will start marriage instructions tomorrow 13th July, 2015 at 5pm.
  9. There will be a memorial service for the Late Fr. Paul Serra, former National Youth chaplain next Sunday 19th July, 2015 at Foyer De Chasite retreat Centre Namugongo starting at 11.00am. All former YCS and current YCS members are informed.
  10. If mass is not going on you can always deposit your offering outside in the boxes at the Grotto of Mother Mary and the Holy Cross. If you want to help Reachout there is a donation box in the church.
  11. There is always Baptism during the Second Sunday of every month. The parents and God parents must attend the instructions. Today there will be Baptism after the 11 O’clock mass.

  2. Today we celebrate the First Holy communions in our parish. We congratulate the children and thank the parents and catechists for their support in preparing the children. The celebration will take place in the 11am mass.
  3. Today we welcome seven Bishops from the GANAL Ecclesiastical province in our parish of Mbuya. They will celebrate with us at the 11.00am mass.
  4. The second instructions for parents who would like to baptize children in this month of June will be next Saturday 13th June 2015 starting at 3.30pm. God parents must also attend.
  5. All members who attended the Sunday school workshop are invited to come for the last Sunday school preparations on Tuesday 9th June, 2015 at 8.45am. (Hero’s day) at Mbuya Kindergarten playground.  All those interested in teaching children are invited to attend.
  6. St. Kizito Primary School Bugolobi announces the job of d bursar in the school. Applications should not be later than Friday 12th June, 2015.

  2. This Wednesday 3rd June will be Uganda Martyrs day, good celebrations to you all. There will be two celebrated at the parish at 7.00am and 9.00am for those who may not go to Namugongo.
  3. Nextx Sunday 7th June will be the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi). The children will receive their first Holy Communion in the 11.00 mass. The Bishops from the Northern Ecclesiastical province will pray with us in the 11.00 mass. They will then meet all Christians from the Northern Ecclesiastical province in the kindergarten after the 11.00 mass. The procession of the Blessed Sacrament will be in the 5.00pm mass.
  4. All the children preparing to receive Holy Communion on Sunday are requested to come on Saturday 6th June, 2015 for confessions at 8.00am. Those who come late will not be accepted.
  5. Those who would like to baptize children during the month of June should come on Saturday 6th June, 2015 for instructions starting at 3.30pm. Parents and God Parents must attend.
  6. The Christians from Fort Portal Diocese are reminded of your monthly Mass next Sunday 7th June 2015 at St. Augustine students centre hall Makerere University. The mass will begin at 10am.
  7. There will be a liturgy workshop next Saturday 6th June 2015 from 10.00am to 4.30pm. The following people must attend; Catechists, ushers, sacristans, Altar servers, 5 representatives from each choir, extra ordinary ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, commentators, heads of Liturgy. Please register at Sisters office.
  8. Being the Last Sunday of the Mass, there will be the second colletion for the renovation of Namugongo.
  9. We thank the Christians of Bugolobi who contributed Ugx500,000 for the Banda project last Sunday.
  10. There will be healing service today starting at 2.30pm.

  5. The Parish council is today after the 9.00am mass.
  6. The Reachout AGM 2015 will be on Friday 29th May,2015 starting at 9.00am.
  7. The parents of the children who are to receive their first holy communion on the feast of Corpus Christi will come for a meeting next Saturday 30th May, 2015 starting at 9.00am.
  8. There will be a healing service next Sunday 31st May, 2015 from 2.30pm to 5.00pm. Come with a friend and be blessed.

  2. The month of May is dedicated to mother Mary and we are encouraged to pray the rosary daily.
  3. Today Christians rom St. Julia sub parish will make their pilgrimage to the parish and they will lead the 11 O’clock mass.
  4. All Christians of Mbuya parish will make a pilgrimage to Namugongo on Saturday 16th May 2015. We will start our journey at 8.00am. The leaders and Christians are kindly asked to prepare some gifts for the offertory. St. Cecilia choir will lead us during the mass.
  5. Parents are reminded to send their children for catechism classes during holidays.
  6. St. Andrew Kaggwa  sub parish Bugolobi Christians have a meeting today after the 9.00am mass at the Mbuya Kindergarten hall.
  7. Catholic Men’s Guild will hold their meeting on Sunday 17th May 2015 after 9.00am mass in the parish hall.
  8. Next Sunday 17th May 2015, two of our sub parishes will make their pilgrimage to the parish that is Kiswa sub-parish during the 7.30am mass and Banda sub parish during the 11.00am mass .
  9. All students on holiday are reminded to come for Adoration every Friday from 5.00am to 7.00pm.

Kampala Archdiocese will join the rest of the Dioceses in Uganda to celebrate the 49th World communications day on Sunday, 17th May 2015 at Mitala Maris parish under Mitala Maria Vicariate starting with mass at 10.00am. The theme will be “Communicating the family: A privileged place of encouraging the gift of love.” The main celebrant will be His Eminence Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala and chief guest will be His Excellence the Vice president of Uganda, Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.

  3. Today is vocations Sunday. We pray for vocations to the Priesthood and consecrated life.
  4. Friday will be 1st May. It is Labour Day and the church celebrates St. Joseph the worker. There will be two masses 7.00am and 9.00am. The Catholic Workers Movement invites all Christians to join them in the 9.00am mass. You are encouraged on that day to bring your working tools for blessing.
  5. Those who would like to baptize children during the month of May should come for instructions on Saturday 2nd May, 2015 starting at 3.00pm.
  6. There will be a meeting for those who attended training for the Sunday school of children on Saturday 2nd May, 2015 starting at 9.00am in the parish hall.
  7. All those who would like their children to attend the Sunday school should register their names with Sr. Elizabeth at the parish office.
  8. The singles Ministry that meets every Thursday will be having training on Liquid soap making on Thursday 30th April, 2015 at 6.00pm.
  9. A health worker from Kiswa Health Centre is here today to carry out a government program that involves giving vitamin A and deworming children 15 years and below. Parents are kindly asked to pass at her desk outside the church for this service to the children.
  10. Our Lady of Africa Kindergarten Mbuya announces the Job of a bus driver. Applications should reach the office not later than 2nd May, 2015.
  11. Our Pilgrimage to Namugongo will be on Saturday 16th May, 2015 starting from the parish at 8.00am.
  12. St. Julia sub Parish will make their Pilgrimage to the parish on Sunday 10th May during the 11 O’clock mass.
  13. All Ugandans are kindly asked to register for National ID’s at their parishes before the end of this month. Those who have registered are kindly asked to pick their ID’s from the place where you registered.
  14. The Christians from Lira, Gulu, Nebbi, and Arua dioceses are kindly asked to attend the meetings every Sunday at the Nusery hall Mbuya in preparation of the Uganda Martyrs day celebrations on 3rd June, 2015. The meeting is always at 11.00am.
  15. Being the last Sunday of the month there will be a second basket collection for the renovation of Namugongo. The collection last month was Ugx1,386,700.

About Our Church

Welcome to Our Lady of Africa Parish Mbuya. We are located near Bugolobi Township in Nakawa Division. It is about 5 kms from the City Centre of Kampala. Mbuya Catholic Parish is a vibrant and diverse community made up of people from different parts of Uganda. We welcome you warmly and joyfully.
